EMSB private event: A Brain-Based Approach in a DAYCARE Context

This presentation explores the relational foundations of high-quality school-age daycare. Participants will examine how attachment, belonging and mattering, preventative and intentional practices, positive peer relationships, teamwork, and meaningful family partnerships contribute to children’s well-being and development. Particular attention will be given to the role of the adult—their presence, responses, and capacity to provide co-regulation—in helping children navigate emotions, relationships, and challenging moments. Through practical strategies and reflection, educators will consider how everyday interactions can create daycare environments where children feel safe, connected, supported, and valued.
